Stateline casinos lead Nevada in July gaming profits
Submitted by Editor on Fri, 08/30/2013 - 6:20amCasinos at South Shore Lake Tahoe led the Silver State in gaming profits for the month of July, the Nevada Gaming Control Board reports Friday.
Casinos in Stateline took in $32,371,760 in gaming-related profits or "win" compared to July 2012, a 9.23 percent increase.
Las Vegas strip casinos saw the biggest decrease in gaming profits for the month, seeing a 14.40 decline from July 2012.

Harrah's banks on the electric car

The charging stations will be among 16 at the casino’s Reno/Tahoe properties, which include Harveys Lake Tahoe in South Shore. And they’re not just for guests.

More than 15 “mobbers” showed up for food and drink specials including a delicious smoked rib sampler platter at the Fox & Hound on Tramway Drive off Kingsbury Grade.
TahoeChamber would like to thank the Fox & Hound for hosting the mob, as well as the attendees at this event that that was created to help fulfill the chamber’s goal of creating a strong local economy.
Lake Tahoe agents say Californians fleeing to Nevada to escape taxes

In November, Californians approved Proposition 30, which raises taxes on earnings over $250,000 for seven years. Nevada has no state income tax.

The July, 2013 figures were just released and they continue to show that interest in buying a home in Lake Tahoe is still growing. During the last year we saw home buyers flock to Lake Tahoe for a few reasons: low interest rates and an increased interest to buy something before they felt it was too late. When we saw more home listings enter the market this summer we saw the sales frenzy subside a bit.

South Shore Lake Tahoe casinos win big in April
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 06/10/2013 - 7:58amSouth Shore Lake Tahoe casinos were among the top earners for Nevada casinos during month of April, netting a 14.48 percent increase in gaming profits over April 2012 figures, the state's gaming control board reports Monday.
Casinos at Stateline had a casino "win" of $5,728,649 for the month, compared to $13,739,313 in April 2012. Statewide, gaming profits in Nevada fell slightly by 0.16 percent. Nevada casinos made $854,293,047 for the month.

Skier visits increase nationally by 11 percent

Lake Tahoe ski resorts report growth despite dry winter

With all Lake Tahoe ski resorts now closed for the season, operators are reporting record profits, despite a lack of snow after the early season.
The ski runs above Lake Tahoe are quiet and ski resorts operators are counting the season's cash and customers. Vail Resorts reports a 10 percent rise in sales at its 7 properties nation-wide, but it said growth at its Tahoe resorts was slower. The problem was a dry January through April.
Pending home sales through the roof

Lake Tahoe closed sales
115 homes are currently in escrow on the California side of Lake Tahoe and 37 homes are in this status on the Nevada side. The Lake Tahoe California figures are 10% higher than last year at this time and the Lake Tahoe Nevada figures are up 60%!

Lake Tahoe casinos help Nevada pull in positive February gaming profits

For the fiscal year gaming win has increased 2.29 percent.
South Shore Lake Tahoe casinos saw a 7.4 percent increase in gaming profits in February compared to last year, taking $16,290,238. North Lake Tahoe had an impressive 35.26 increase in gaming "win" keeping $2,195,188.

The recent actions of Lake Tahoe home owners indicates to me that we are at beginning of a seller's market. In the last 30 days, 12 California homeowners withdrew their Lake Tahoe homes for sale off the market. On the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, 4 homeowners pulled their homes off the market during the same period.

The new site offers great opportunities for members to promote their business with enhanced business listings, banner ads, job postings, a market space similar to Craigslist, and a great community events calendar. The workshop is free for chamber members and $15 for prospective members.
