Lake Tahoe casinos help Nevada pull in positive February gaming profits

Gaming profits in Nevada area casinos bounced back in February with a 15.3 percent increased "win" over figures for the same time period in 2012, the state's Gaming Control Board reports Wednesday. For the fiscal year gaming win has increased 2.29 percent.

South Shore Lake Tahoe casinos saw a 7.4 percent increase in gaming profits in February compared to last year, taking $16,290,238. North Lake Tahoe had an impressive 35.26 increase in gaming "win" keeping $2,195,188.

Carson City area casinos saw a 3.37 percent decline in February profits over last year during the same month. Casinos in Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville and elsewhere in Douglas County minus Lake Tahoe took in $7,598,406 for the month in gaming compared to $7,863,077 in February 2012.
