Layer of snow covers South Lake Tahoe

"Pray for Snow" dances worked as snow is covering the mountains around Lake Tahoe. Snow showers are tapering off this morning, but now before the weather system dropped 1-2" of snow at lake level and 7-11" at the ski resorts.

The forecast for Lake Tahoe Friday is lingering snow showers through the day. High near 33. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Overnight there will be scattered snow showers, making way to mostly cloudy skies, with lows around 17. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
