Good morning skiers and riders, and if you’re visiting, welcome to Lake Tahoe!
Today is Sunday, April 23.
Shaping up to be a SUNDAY FINAL FUNDAY for Resorts. Get Out and Get Your Turns In… Surface Conditions are Machine Groomed & Spring Conditions. Final Day of operations for Diamond Peak, Northstar, Boreal, Bear Valley, Soda Springs & Sierra at Tahoe Closing on April 24. Have Fun & Be Safe! This will be my last Daily Report for the Winter of 2016/17. It’s been an incredible Winter that will go down in the records books. Wishing you all a great Spring & Summer!
TODAY’S WEATHER (NWS GREATER LAKE TAHOE AREA): Expect Mostly Cloudy Skies in the morning then clearing. Highs: 51F to 61F. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Ridge gusts up to 65 mph.
TONIGHT: Partly Cloudy in the evening then becoming Mostly Cloudy. Lows: 28F to 33F. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph
MONDAY: Mostly Cloudy with scattered showers. Snow level rising to 7500 feet. Highs: 42F to 52F. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon. Ridge gusts up to 70 mph increasing to 85 mph in the afternoon.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress in light layers with a Jacket or outer Shell. Take a hat or beanie and wear a Helmet for Safety. Also wear Good Sunglasses or Goggles. Don’t forget to use Sunscreen when the sun is out and Stay Hydrated at altitude!
SURFACE CONDITIONS: Surface Conditions are Machine Groomed & Spring Conditions – Skier-Rider Firm Packed Snow Softening.
SAFETY MESSAGE: Stay on designated Opened Trails only. Keep an Eye Out for Marked and Unmarked Obstacles. Slow Down and observe safety signs on trails with high concentration of skiers and riders… Know the Code! Do not Ski or Ride above your ability level… Always stay in control. Be able to avoid objects and people in your Path! Please stop to side of the run where it is safe and always check uphill for skiers and riders before restarting down hill. If you go off-piste, always ski & ride with a buddy!

SOUTH SHORE LAKE TAHOE & SURROUNDING AREAS
*HEAVENLY MOUNTAIN RESORT: Is reporting a base of 131-183”. 10 Lifts & Tows are scheduled to operate (8:30-4)-WWP, with Mtn. Access is from 2 Base Facilities, including the Gondola & Stagecoach. 3 Lifts & Tows are scheduled to turn in California, including the Gondola & Sky Express. Gunbarrel Express open at Cal Base at 12 noon for Expert skiers only. 7 Lifts & Tows are scheduled to turn in Nevada including Stagecoach, Dipper & Tamarack. 81 Trails are open (43MG). High Roller T-Park open. (MG & Spring / 29F / Clear / Mod-Strong Winds). Tubing Open (11-4). Open Daily thru April 23. Close April 24-27 to Reopen April 28-30. *SIERRA AT TAHOE: (Hwy 50:) Is reporting a base depth of 113-218”. 6 Lifts & Tows are scheduled to operate (8:30-4), including Grandview to the top of the Front Side and the West Bowl scheduled to open. 36 runs open with (28MG). 3 Freestyle T-Parks & ½ Pipe open. (MG & Spring / 40F / MCldy / Lt Winds). Snow Shoe Trails open today. Open thru Monday, April 24 (10-2) with Customer Appreciation Day with proceeds to benefit local youth recreation & education.
