COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials are reporting four new confirmed cases in the county since Thursday, three in the Lake Tahoe region, one in El Dorado Hills.

Of the new cases, three are male one is female, and one is under the age of 18, two in the 18-49 age group, and one in the 50-64 age group.

There have been four more recoveries, bringing that total to 72 leaving 34 active cases.

One person remains in the ICU and there have been no additional hospitalizations.

There have now been 6,831 tests administered, 125 new ones today.

There have been 48 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting seven new positive cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 227 with 155 recoveries and six deaths, 66 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s
• A male Carson City resident in his 20’s
• A male Carson City resident under the age of 18
• A male Douglas County resident under the age of 18
• A female Carson City resident in her 60’s
• A male Lyon County resident in his 50’s
• A male Carson City resident in his 30’s

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 29 additional recoveries from COVID-19 in Washoe County and the total number has surpassed 1,000. There are 31 additional COVID-19 cases in Washoe County Friday with four more deaths.

There have been six new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Thursday.
