COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced another five confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county - two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs and three in the Lake Tahoe Region. Of the new cases, three are male, two female, one is under the age of 18, two in the 18-49-year-old group, and two in the 50-64 group.

Three more people have recovered and there have been no deaths in El Dorado County. There are currently 41 active cases.

An additional 177 tests were administered, bringing the total to 10,545. South Lake Tahoe is now the only location in the county doing tests for non-symptomatic people. The Shingle Springs location closed Monday.

One person with confirmed COVID-19 is currently in the ICU and there are no suspected cases in area hospitals. These numbers reflect only those at Barton or Marshall Hospitals and do not include county residents who may be hospitalized in another area.

County-wide there have been 150 cases with 78 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting seven new positive cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 296, with 209 recoveries and seven deaths, 80 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Douglas County resident in his 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 70’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 70’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident under the age of 18 with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Storey County resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 51 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County.

Currently hospitalized: 71 (-1)

28 of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 8 active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 15 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Monday, with one of them from the Lake Tahoe area.
