COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorada County health officials have announced 21 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since Monday. Of those cases, 13 are in the Lake Tahoe region, four in El Dorado Hills, two in Placerville, one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz and one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue. They are eight males, 13 females, three aged under 18, 12 aged 18-49, five aged 50-64 and one age 65 or over.
An additional 248 tests were administered county-wide.
There is a decrease of one person hospitalized but one more moved into the ICU for a total of two. There is one suspected case of COVID-19 in the ICU.
The county estimates 14 additional recoveries with 207 current active cases.
One person has died from the virus in South Lake Tahoe.
County-wide there have been 464 cases with 223 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon
Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting an additional death due COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual is a female Carson City resident in her 60’s with underlying health conditions. CCHHS is also reporting seven new positive cases and three additional recoveries of COVID-19. This brings the total number of cases to 532, with 382 recoveries and nine deaths, 141 cases remain active.
The new cases are:
• A female Douglas County resident in her 70’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 60’s with a recent travel history to California.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• An adult male Lyon County resident in his teens with a connection to a previously reported case.
Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County
The Regional Information Center is reporting 69 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths in Washoe County since yesterday.
Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 4,242 (+69 from 7/20)
Deaths: 105 (+3)
Estimated recoveries: 3,059 (+84)
Active cases: 1,078 (-18)
Currently hospitalized: 65 (+1)
Cases who have discharged from hospital: 320 (+0)
57 (+0) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 13 (-2) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.
Placer County
There have been 168 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since yesterday, with two of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.
Their seven-day test rate is 7 percent positive, and 14-day case rate is 126.5 per 100,000.

Nevada County
There were three new cases of COVID-19 in Nevada County with two of those in the Truckee area.
