Lake Tahoe road work schedule for October 18 - 24, 2015

LONG-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to the "Y" junction with State Route 28 in Tahoe City on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore that will upgrade storm water drainage and treatment systems, add curb and gutter, resurface and realign the road, add new left-turn pockets and widen shoulders on a 9-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected in fall 2016.
Oct. 19-23 - State Route 89 (Placer County) from Grimsel Pass Road to Pine Avenue: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to noon Friday for concrete and tree work.
State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work is wrapping up on a $20 million water-quality project from 0.1 mile north of the Eagle Falls Sidehill Viaduct No. 5 in Emerald Bay to the Meeks Creek Bridge in Meeks Bay. This project is adding new drainage features, curb and gutter in some locations, and resurfacing a nearly 7-mile stretch of the highway. The project will be completed this fall.
Oct. 19-23 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 3 Ring Road to 1 Ring Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for drainage work.
State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work is wrapping up on an $8 million project from Meeks Creek to Wilson Avenue in Tahoma, installing curb and gutter and drainage systems to collect and treat stormwater. The highway will also be resurfaced. The project will be completed this fall.
Oct. 19-23 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Meeks Creek to Wilson Avenue: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control around the clock from 7 a.m. Monday to 11 a.m. Friday for pavement work.
State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks will be added in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side. Drainage systems are also being built and the roadway will be resurfaced. Completion is expected by spring 2017.
Oct. 19-23 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from the “Y” intersection to 15th Street: Northbound and southbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for curb, gutter and sidewalk work. Northbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 7th Street to 10th Street from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday for drainage work. Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from West Way to Cascade Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for drainage work.
State Route 28 (Placer County): Work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. The project is installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements. Oct. 19-23 - State Route 28 (Placer County) from the junction with State Route 267 to Bear/Brook Street: Eastbound and westbound motorists should expect the right shoulders closed from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for miscellaneous work.
State Route 267 (Placer County): Work is wrapping up on a $5.2 million project to grind, pave and make drainage improvements to a nearly seven-mile stretch of State Route 267 from just north of Schaffer Mill Road to Brockway Summit.
Oct. 19-23 - State Route 267 (Placer County) from the Nevada County line to Carnelian Bay Avenue: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for pavement work.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $57 million project by El Dorado County to construct a new overcrossing over U.S. Highway 50, new on- and off-ramps with signalized intersections, and new bicycle and pedestrian facilities at Silva Valley Parkway in El Dorado Hills. Oct. 22-24 - U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Latrobe Road/El Dorado Hills Boulevard to Bass Lake Road: Eastbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures and the Latrobe Road/El Dorado Hills Boulevard on-ramp closed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday, 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (ramp) and 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (lanes) for K-rail installation.
State Route 49 (El Dorado County): Work continues on an $8.4 million project to repave an 11-mile section of State Route 49 from Cool to Coloma. Most of the paving will use cold-in-place recycling in which the existing pavement is ground up and reused and then an asphalt overlay is placed on top of it. Rocks have also been added to some shoulder areas for erosion control and guard rail replaced.
Oct. 18-23 - State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Lotus Road to Ranch Creek Circle: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations around the clock from 12:01 a.m. Sunday to 11:59 p.m. Saturday for pavement repair.
SHORT-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 28 (Placer County) from Jackpine Street to Dollar Drive and Tahoe State Park Drive to Sierra Terrace Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday for sewer work.
State Route 28 (Placer County) from Agate Road to Anderson Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday for pavement work.
State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Morales Ranch Road to Missouri Flat Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility.
State Route 49 (El Dorado/Placer County) from the junction with State Route 193 in Cool to Borland Street/Lincoln Way in Auburn: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday for sign and striping work.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Truckee Drive to Lodi Street and Blue Lake Avenue to Tulare Avenue/Al Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe: Eastbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday for gas line relocation work.
State Route 89 (Placer County) at Alpine Meadows Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday for electrical work.
State Route 89 (Placer County) from Silver Creek Campground to the Nevada County line in Truckee: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for drainage work.
State Route 193 (El Dorado County) from Ricci Road to Greenwood Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for brush clearing.
State Route 267 (Placer County) from Martis Creek to the Ranger Station road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for tree work.
