Suspicious Fire in South Lake Tahoe Being Investigated
Submitted by paula on Thu, 01/30/2014 - 10:54amA Wednesday night house fire in South Lake Tahoe has turned into a criminal investigation.
South Lake Tahoe Police officers and fire fighters responded to a residential fire in the 1100 block of Long Valley Avenue at 6:10 pm. They found the home fully engulfed in flames with fire starting to spread to nearby trees, though they were able to contain the fire to the area of the burning home. It appears the house is likely to be a total loss.
The house has received the attention of the police and fire department prior to Wednesday night's fire.
El Dorado County Sheriffs Trying to Reunite Recovered Property With Owners

As previously released, four suspects were arrested related to burglaries. One of those suspects was Gary Joseph Masse who was paroled in July 2013 after serving prison time for a previous burglary conviction.
Three Arrested For String of West Slope Burglaries
Submitted by paula on Thu, 12/12/2013 - 5:32pmThe El Dorado County Sheriff's Department retrieved hundreds of stolen items from a home in Georgetown after investigating a series of burglaries in the towns of Pollock Pines, Camino, Placerville and Georgetown. They arrested three residents of a home after conducting a search of a home following discovery of a stolen car.
Jeri Acuna, a 37 year old woman was arrested for possession of stolen property and a stolen vehicle, Ryann Jana Leidel, a 32 year old female was arrested for two outstanding felony warrants. Parolee Tommie Richard Stover was arrested on two other felony warrants.

The award from the US Department of Justice will be used to assist the Sheriff’s “Crisis Intervention Team” (CIT).
South Lake Tahoe Residents Arrested in Douglas County Burglary

Robbery at South Lake Tahoe El Dorado Savings Bank
Submitted by Editor on Wed, 08/21/2013 - 10:43amThe South Lake Tahoe Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to help identify the suspect who robbed the El Dorado Savings and Loan at 3443 Lake Tahoe Boulevard this morning around 9:30am.
Based on surveillance footage, the suspect appears to be a white male adult in his fifties, approximately 6’-2” tall, weight proportionate to height, wearing a beige baseball cap, a short-sleeved plaid button down shirt, khaki cargo shorts and flip flop sandals.
The suspect walked into the bank and presented the teller with a demand note. The suspect claimed to be armed but did not display a weapon.

Eric Beaman, 26, of South Lake Tahoe, faces charges of being in possession of stolen property, said South Lake Tahoe Police Department Lt. Brian Williams. A search warrant of a home on Armstrong Avenue led to the finding and arrest.
South Lake Tahoe man suspected of DUI in crash that injured mother and two children

Dara Siev was arrested for felony DUI and booked into the custody of the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe. The crash was reported at 4:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of Lake Tahoe Boulevard near Blue Lake Avenue. The injuries sustained to the mother and children ages 4 and 8 were reported to be not life-threatening, South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Brian Williams said.

Sean-Paul Andrew MacIntire, 32, of South Lake Tahoe faces first degree murder charges in the stabbing death of Shirley Gordon, said South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Brian Williams.

Manpreet Ghuman Singh, 27, of South Lake Tahoe was killed after sustaining a single bullet wound to his upper torso. It does not appear that any robbery was involved in this crime.

DiMatteo had pled guilty to a felony for marijuana trafficking on Jan. 9. As part of his plea agreement, DiMatteo agreed to forfeit more than $40,000 to the United States.

Paul Cortez was arrested by Reno police and booked into Washoe County Jail where he will be transferred to South Lake Tahoe and booked into El Dorado County Jail. Police say he confessed to details about the robbery and how much money was taken.

Former South Lake Tahoe pot club owner pleads guilty to federal trafficking charges
Submitted by Editor on Wed, 01/09/2013 - 11:07amGennaro "Gino" DiMatteo, 43, of South Lake Tahoe, pled guilty Wednesday to count two of the indictment, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced. DiMatteo is scheduled to be sentenced in April.
This case is the product of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department, and the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Jason Hitt is prosecuting the case.
Authorities investigate Incline Village armed robbery
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 01/07/2013 - 2:09pmWashoe County authorities are asking for the public's help in solving a Jan. 2 armed robbery at a north shore Lake Tahoe gas station in which a gun shot was fired. No one was injured.
A masked gunman entered the Incline Village Chevron gas station at 8:45 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk and then discharged a silver-colored long barrel revolver inside the store, according to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Special Operations and Investigations Division. The clerk was not injured and no other patrons were in the store.

Dustin James Woodruff, born July 29, 1985, is suspected of shooting and beating Bryan Santana, 35, of Placerville on July 2, 2012, said El Dorado County Lt. Tim Becker in a news release.
Victim in fatal Placerville shooting identified, investigation continues
Submitted by Editor on Tue, 09/25/2012 - 4:00pmEl Dorado County Sheriff’s Office detectives have released the name of the man who was fatally shot Friday in Placerville as Richard Lee Hart, 37.
Michael Steven Hayes of Placerville is the alleged shooter in the event that happened on Lo Hi Way. Hayes has not been arrested and no charges have been filed at this time per the investigating detectives, said Lt. Tim Decker.
El Dorado County authorities are trying to determine whether the shooting was in self defense. Hart was reportedly armed with a handgun at the time he was fatally shot by Hayes.
El Dorado County authorities investigate fatal shooting in Placerville

A 37-year-old man was found dead in the 3100 block of Lo Hi Way after a report to dispatch that a gunshot was heard and that a man armed with a handgun had been shot with a shotgun.
No arrests have been made and the dead man's identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

Around noon, detectives spotted Bautista, 29, in the passenger seat of a black truck. They eventually followed the vehicle to the Ambassador Motor Lodge, arriving about 3 p.m.

South Lake Tahoe police responded to Mo's Place in the 3600 block of Lake Tahoe Boulevard at 12:36 a.m. with a fight reported between patrons and bar security, authorities said.
