Of those, two are in El Dorado Hills, one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, two in Diamond Springs/El Dorado and none in the Lake Tahoe region. There is also a -1 case count for Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue.
One of those new cases 4 are aged 18-49, 1 aged 50-64, and -1 ages 65 or older.
Another 226 people were tested for the coronavirus and 222 negative tests results were received.

Of those, six are in El Dorado Hills, one in Greater Placerville; one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, two in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, and two in the Lake Tahoe region.
One of those new cases are under the age of 18, 4 aged 18-49, 6 aged 50-64, 1 ages 65 or older.
Another 310 people were tested for the coronavirus and 604 negative tests results were received.
There have been another 20 assumed recoveries with 96 assumed active cases.

The questions focused mainly on topics relating to things that will or may affect both the local small businesses and the community in general.
Their board made the decision to not endorse a specific candidate this election, but instead rank them based on how much they align with the South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce goals based on their answers to the questions below.

Of those, seven are in El Dorado Hills, one in Greater Placerville; one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, and five in the Lake Tahoe region.
Three of them are under the age of 18, 7 aged 18-49, 5 aged 50-64.
Another 619 people were tested for the coronavirus and 604 negative tests results were received.

Tahoe Bicycle Coalition and Tahoe Fund collaborate on new bike racks around lake
Submitted by paula on Fri, 10/16/2020 - 7:13amDue to the collaboration of the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition and Tahoe Fund, over 100 more racks were installed in town centers in the Tahoe Basin this summer. Together, the nonprofits have worked together to install nearly 450 bike racks during the past three years, offering secure parking for 900 bikes.
With a grant from the Tahoe Fund and matching contributions from local businesses, the nonprofit Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition completed the third phase of its efforts to create secure bike parking within the Tahoe Basin.

Fire Weather Watch and Lake Wind Advisory for South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Thu, 10/08/2020 - 9:28pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for South Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, Truckee, Markleeville, Stateline, Glenbrook, and Incline Village from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Expect southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected. Waves will be 2 to 4 feet with highest waves on the northeast shores.
Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.

South Lake Tahoe City Council expands business reimbursement program
Submitted by paula on Thu, 10/08/2020 - 9:17amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - During their meeting Tuesday, the City Council approved the Winter Operations COVID Compliance Business Protection Grant Reimbursement Program which will reimburse local businesses for PPE and the equipment they need to operate safely during the winter months.
There were funds left over from the first business reimbursement program which gave up to $2,500 back to those who had to purchase items needed to operate safely.

Last week, Luca Genasci made an announcement on social media that he would be discontinuing his campaign. Citing a growing workload with a new business opening, Genasci said did not have "ample time" to dedicate to his new fiancé, family, friends, businesses and local politics.
Genasci owns Lake Tahoe Aleworx with two locations at Stateline and the Y, and a new bar, the Cocktail Corner, next door to the Y location in The Crossing at Tahoe Valley.

Of those, eight are in El Dorado Hills, ten in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, three in North County, two in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, three in Greater Placerville and five in the Lake Tahoe Region.
This is the largest number of cases for a three-day period since the pandemic started.
Of these new cases, six are under the age of 18, 20 are in the 18-49 age group, four are aged 50-64 and one aged 65 or older.

US50 over Echo Summit opens five days early
Submitted by paula on Sun, 09/27/2020 - 8:36amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - U.S. Highway 50 is back open to traffic over Echo Summit five days ahead of schedule, Caltrans announced today.
A full closure of Highway 50 over the summit was implemented Friday, Sept. 18 to install seven precast, prestressed 96-foot bridge girders and associated work that included pouring ultra high-performance concrete to connect the girders, building concrete barrier walls and approach slabs, applying a polyester overlay on the bridge, and asphalt paving approaching both sides of the new structure.

Deadline September 30 for South Lake Tahoe COVID-19 receipts
Submitted by paula on Fri, 09/25/2020 - 9:24amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The City of South Lake Tahoe created two programs to help local business owners during COVID-19, a restaurant vouchers and reimbursement of expenses used to open under new health protocols.
Both of these will be ending at the end of the City's fiscal year on September 30.
During the City Council meeting Tuesday, staff reminded everyone in the business community to turn in their receipts and restaurant vouchers by that date.

Lake Tahoe boat inspections move to winter operation schedule October 1
Submitted by paula on Wed, 09/23/2020 - 3:53pmBeginning October 1, watercraft inspections for the detection and prevention of aquatic invasive species (AIS) will change locations and shift to a first-come, first-served basis, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) and the Tahoe Resource Conservation District (Tahoe RCD) announced today.
With this shift back to on-demand inspections, the agencies are closing out the inspection appointment system initiated this year to lower the risk of COVID-19 spread.

Of these new cases, three are in the 18-49 age group, and two in the 50-64 group.

Submitted by paula on Mon, 09/21/2020 - 5:41pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say another nine residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday. Of those, three are in El Dorado Hills, two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, two in Greater Placerville, one in South County and two in the Lake Tahoe region. The health officer has not given a reason for the discrepancy of numbers of reported cases not matching the regional totals.
Of these new cases, five are in the 18-49 age group, one in the 50-64 group, three aged 65 or over.
South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting Tuesday
Submitted by paula on Sun, 09/20/2020 - 6:09pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - City Council will be holding their next meeting on Tuesday September 22 at 9:00 a.m.
The agenda is a fairly short one with the last two regular council meetings lasting about eight hours each.
There will be a closed session meeting at 8:30 a.m.
Council will consider postponing or canceling all City permitted special events until November 17, 2020 or until public health officials deem it is safe to gather in larger groups. All permitted special events have been canceled since May 12, 2020, due to the pandemic.

Of those, three are in El Dorado Hills, one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, one in Greater Placerville and one in the Lake Tahoe region. Another 218 people were tested for the coronavirus and 212 negative tests results were received.
