Tahoe Women's Community Fund awards $22,000 to local groups

The 170 women that make up the Tahoe Women's Community Fund recently voted to give away $22,000 to four local groups that met the criteria in four different categories.

Focus Grant Recipient for $10,000 in the category of Children and Youth: Bread and Broth for Kids

Impact Grant Recipient for $4000 in the category of Education and Literacy: Sierra House School, Tahoe Valley School, and Bijou School (LTUSD)…Books for School Libraries and Classrooms

Impact Grant Recipient for $4000 in the category of Mental Health and Wellness: Tahoe Turning Point ...Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment Project

Impact Grant Recipient for $4000 in the category of Poverty and Housing: Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless ...South Lake Tahoe Warm Room

"We are so excited to share this tremendous show of collective giving here on the South Shore," said Kathy Haven, a member of the group's Cabinet.

They will be honoring the recipients and all grant applicants during their Grants Gala on Friday, June 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tahoe Beach Retreat. Tickets are $35 and will go on sale April 25. They can be purchased online after that date on the group's website..
