COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, all in the Lake Tahoe region, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 67. Of the new cases, all are male with two in the 18-49 age group, the other in the 65+ age group.

There were no new recoveries over the weekend, leaving 15 active cases.

505 additional tests were conducted since Friday, 4,408 to date.

There have been 25 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Kyburz, and Tahoma).

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting two additional COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County. The deceased are both females in their 90s with underlying health conditions.

There are 48 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

Incline Village has one new case, bringing the total in the community of 8,800 residents to 20. Crystal Bay's 661 residents have one case.

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting a third death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a male Carson City resident in his 80’s. It is unknown at this time if he had underlying conditions.

CCHHS is also reporting eight new positive cases since Friday and 12 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 145, with 102 recoveries and three deaths, 40 cases remain active.

• A female Douglas County resident in her 40’s
• An adult female Carson City resident in her teens
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the case will be released.

There have only been updates to the county's testing figures. The two positive case numbers have not risen in a few weeks. The figures below are the last ones reported on April 27 and there have been no changes.
