Full weekend of activities in South Lake Tahoe

Lots to do in South Lake Tahoe this weekend. Now that South Tahoe and Whittell High Schools had their homecoming games Friday night, the rest of the weekend can be filled with everything from helping feed local youth, buying mattresses or playing golf for the high school, honoring one of the City's first leaders and enjoying the annual Fire Fest.

Helicopters, fire trucks, K-9s and demonstrations are just a few of the activities planned for 23rd annual Fire Fest on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. outside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. The Battle Born Harley Davidson Street Vibrations Fall Rally will be held in Carson City from Wednesday, September 27 through Sunday, October 1 from 9:00 a.m. until "the last bike leaves." The event is free and will include over 70 vendors, the area’s largest beer garden, live music, West Coast Connection stunt shows, burnouts and all of your favorite food trucks. Ever consider growing garlic in your garden here in Tahoe? Join UCCE Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe at this free workshop to learn how garlic can be grown at the Lake. This will be held at the South Lake Tahoe Library at 1:00 p.m. Participants will receive instruction on cultivation techniques, and the history/background on the plant. Everyone will leave with free garlic for their gardens. This is a family friendly workshop, with a hands-on opportunity to get acquainted with growing vegetables. All 'thumbs' welcome.
