A ReFresh of New Snow yesterday… Winter Weather Advisory posted, today thru Wednesday afternoon… Then, Winter Storm Watch from Wednesday afternoon thru late Thursday… 2-4 Feet possible above 7000 feet… Surface Conditions are holding up with Machine Groomed & Skier-Rider Packed Powder with Fresh Snow on top… Respect all Patrol Rope lines & Area Closures… Get After it! Have Fun & Be Safe!

TODAY’S WEATHER: Expect a Slight Chance of Snow in the morning, then Snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 2” with 1-4” above 7000 ft. Highs: 32F-37F. (22F-27F on the Slopes). South Winds 10-15 mph.

TONIGHT: Snow. Snow accumulation of 4-8” with 5-11” above 7000 feet. Lows: 23F to 28F. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Ridge gusts up to 55 mph increasing to 70 mph after midnight.

* CHANGES… Increased snowfall amounts for tonight.

* WHAT… Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon: Moderate snow with accumulations of 5-10 inches, except 10- 18 incheswest of Highway 89, are expected. For Wednesday night through Thursday: 2-4 feet possible above 7000 feet. Below 7000 feet, 8-18 inches, possibly as much as 15-30 inchesif precipitation remains all snow.

* WHERE… Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN… For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 4 PM Tuesday to 4 PM PST Wednesday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Wednesday afternoon through late Thursday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… Travel could be very difficult to impossible later Wednesday through Thursday with periods of white out conditions possible, especially in the higher elevations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Now is the time to prepare an emergency kit for your home and car. If traveling consider alternate plans, remember to carry tire chains, extra food, water and clothing. Once the storm arrives, travel may be difficult or impossible for an extended period of time. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress warm, in layers with your windproof-waterproof Jacket or Shell. Take warm gloves, a hat or beanie, and wear a Helmet for Safety. You might want to take along a face gaiter or scarf. Also wear good Sunglasses or Yellow or Rose tinted Goggles. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen (when the sun is out) & stay hydrated at altitude!

SURFACE CONDITIONS: Surface Conditions are Machine Groomed & Skier-Rider Packed Powder. Watch for marked & unmarked obstacles.

SAFETY MESSAGE: Stay on designated Opened Trails only. Respect all rope lines & area closures.Ski or Ride with a Buddy if you decide to go Off Piste – Trees or opened trails. Keep an eye out for marked and unmarked obstacles. Slow Down and observe safety signs on trails with high concentration of skiers and riders… Know the Code! Always stay in control. Be able to avoid objects and people in your Path! Please stop to side of the run where it is safe and always check uphill for skiers and riders before restarting downhill.
