COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There were three new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County over the weekend, two in the Lake Tahoe region and the other in El Dorado Hills. All of the new cases are male, and all aged 50-64 years old.

An additional 444 people were able to be tested since Friday, bringing the total of tests to 7,169.

One new patient has been admitted into the ICU. With 15 new recoveries, there are now 22 active cases.

here have now been 6,831 tests administered, 125 new ones today.

There have been 50 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting ten new positive cases and seven additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region since Friday. This brings the total number of cases to 237 with 162 recoveries and six deaths, 69 cases remain active.

The new cases are:

• A female Lyon County resident in her 40’s
• A female Lyon County resident in her 20’s
• A male Lyon County resident in his 60’s
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s
• A male Carson City resident in his 30’s
• A female Lyon County resident in her 70’s
• A male Lyon County resident in his 70’s
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 68 additional recoveries from COVID-19 in Washoe County. There have been an additional 87 COVID-19 cases in Washoe County since Friday.

There have been 23 cases of COVID-19 in Incline Village to date, with three active ones, and one case in Crystal Bay but that person has since recovered.

There have been 29 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Friday with two of those in the Lake Tahoe area.
