COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials released new figures, showing 15 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county since yesterday. Seven of those are in the Lake Tahoe Region, three in El Dorado Hills, three in Placerville, and two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue. Four are under the age of 18, nine aged 18-49, one aged 50-64 and one 65+.

There have been no changes in hospitalizations (3) but there are no longer COVID-19 patients in the ICU. There are currently no suspected cases in the hospital.

88 new tests were administered. A third testing site is being added in the county, this time in Placerville starting next week.

There are an estimated six new recoveries, bringing that total to 164. This figure is estimated as there is no follow up on positive cases to see when better, officials just add 14 days onto the confirmed date.

There are currently 143 active cases.

County-wide there have been 307 cases with 149 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting eleven new positive cases and nine additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 434, with 301 recoveries and eight deaths, 125 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Carson City resident in his 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 80’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s with a connection to a worksite exposure.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 20’s who was exposed at work.
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 48 new COVID-19 cases and four new deaths in Washoe County since Thursday.

48 (+3) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 12 (+2) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 28 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Thursday, with one of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.
