FRESH SNOW REPORTED ON THE SUMMITS OF MOST RESORTS WITH RAIN/MIXED PRECIPITATION AT THE BOTTOM. GUSTY RIDGE TOP WINDS ARE AFFECTING OPERATION OF UPPER MTN. LIFTS, SO ALL LIFTS WILL OPERATE WIND & WEATHER PERMITTING… SURFACE CONDITIONS VARY FROM POWDER TO WET PACKED SNOW… BE SAFE AND SKI & RIDE WITH A BUDDY IF YOU GO OFF PISTE.

TODAY’S WEATHER (NWS GREATER LAKE TAHOE AREA): Rain, snow and slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning… Then snow showers, showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Snow level 7500 to 8000 feet. Snow accumulation 3 to 8 inches. Highs: 42F to 52F. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Ridge gusts up to 90 mph.
TONIGHT: Mostly Cloudy with a chance of snow showers, showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers after midnight. Snow level 6500 feet lowering to lake level. Lows: 25F to 35F. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Ridge gusts up to 85 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Partly Cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning, then snow showers, showers likely and slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 2 inches. Highs: 41F to 51F. Southwest winds around 10 mph in the morning becoming light. Ridge gusts up to 70 mph in the morning.

LAKE WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR LAKE TAHOE…
* Winds: South to southwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
* Wave Heights: 1 to 3 feet with the highest waves from mid lake to the north and east shores.
* Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress in layers with a Gore-Tex Jacket or outer Shell. Take a hat or beanie and wear a Helmet for Safety. Also wear Good Sunglasses or Goggles and spring gloves. Don’t forget to use Sunscreen & Chapstick when the sun is out and Stay Hydrated at altitude!

SAFETY MESSAGE: Stay on designated Opened Trails only. Keep an Eye Out for Marked and Unmarked Obstacles. Slow Down and observe safety signs on trails with high concentration of skiers and riders… Know the Code! Do not Ski or Ride above your ability level… Always stay in control. Be able to avoid objects and people in your Path! Please stop to side of the run where it is safe and always check uphill for skiers and riders before restarting down hill.
