Flatstick Pub and Bread & Broth 4 Kids team up for Sunday FUNDdays in April

Each Sunday in April, Flatstick Pub will donate $1 for every beer and $1 for every round of mini golf purchased.
The FUNDays will be held April 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Flatstick Pub is located on Lake Tahoe Blvd. on the street-level of The Zalanta.
Sierra snowpack is one of largest ever at 237% of average

Today, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) had its monthly measurement of snow at Phillips Station, west of Lake Tahoe near Sierra-at-Tahoe as well as at other locations in California.

The Federal Communication Commission requires one to obtain an Amateur radio license to use a two-way radio on amateur radio frequencies.
The Technician license is the entry-level license, but allows you to talk from across town to around the world and more!
TTD Bus runs into Beverly Lodge in South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Sat, 04/01/2023 - 12:53pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) bus ran into the back of the Beverly Lodge Friday night, causing significant damage to the bus and the motel.
At 6:58 p.m. on March 31, 2023, first responders were dispatched to the motel.
For reasons not known at this time, a bus coming from the direction of the Bijou Golf Course on Fairway Drive went straight into the motel and did not make a right turn onto Fairway Avenue as scheduled.
Man arrested for possession of stolen vehicle minutes after allegedly stealing packages in South Lake Tahoe

CAL FIRE updates the Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map

This map shows the fire hazard severity for all properties in the state for which the agency has primary fire prevention/suppression responsibility.
That includes all land that is not federal (such as National Forest land), and all land that is not already in a Local Responsibility Area (LRA). The City of South Lake Tahoe is the only LRA in the Lake Tahoe basin.

Two Lake Tahoe trails facing off in Tahoe Fund bracket contest
Submitted by paula on Fri, 03/31/2023 - 3:23pmTwo rival trails from opposite sides of the lake are set to square off in the Tahoe Trails Madness Championship this weekend! The Rubicon Trail is taking on the Marlette Flume Trail in the battle to be crowned the best trail Tahoe has to offer.
This dramatic championship pits the West Shore against the East Shore, California against Nevada, and two epic trails against one another. This promises to be a matchup for the ages!
Douglas County hires new emergency management director

New management company for the Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association
Submitted by paula on Thu, 03/30/2023 - 6:29pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There is a new management company for the Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association (TKPOA). FirstService Residential assumed management on February 1, 2023, for the 60-year-old association.
FirstService Residential's northern California operations have grown over the past several years to 100-plus associations. The total number of homes under management has seen a 30 percent increase, now topping 53,000. There are 1528 homes within the TKPOA boundary including a 740-acre marina and eleven miles of inland waterways.
Washoe County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate death at Incline Village gas station
Submitted by paula on Thu, 03/30/2023 - 3:30pmINCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - A 63-year-old man died at the Incline Village Chevron Station after being run over by a Jeep SUV on February 27, and the case is still under investigation by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO).
At approximately 11:25 a.m., WCSO deputies were dispatched to the gas station at 898 Tahoe Boulevard for a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was standing behind the vehicle when it started to back up. He was hit and then run over. The Jeep had two occupants and they left the scene.
NDOT Incline Village and Tahoe road projects planned

Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) snowplow operators work in extremely inclement weather and mountainous terrain to help keep roads safe and clear. During storms, crews break into two separate 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts to cover snow removal 24 hours a day. With this season's 500-600 inches of snowfall, crews dedicated more than 88,000 hours to removing snow across northwestern Nevada.

Edgar Julian Delgado of Santa Cruz has been charged with first-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon. He is being held without bail.

After she was presented with a proclamation from Mayor Cristi Creegan, she called the meeting to order and led the pledge of allegiance.
Before the meeting, Emilie had a busy afternoon starting with a tour of City Hall. Next, she met up with the City’s Police K-9 team, toured a fire engine with the City’s firefighters, and viewed snowplows with the City’s Airport Operations team.

Each week the group packs 150 bags of weekend food for children in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District. The food insecure kids get meals at school free of charge, but those are not available over the weekend, holidays, or summer and that is where BB4K comes in to help.

Monthly gaming report: South Shore down almost 4% from a year ago, Nevada up 11.15%
Submitted by paula on Tue, 03/28/2023 - 7:52pmNevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $1,237,272,530 for the month of January 2023, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board's monthly report released today. This amounts to an 11.5 percent increase compared to January 2022, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,113,133,855. For the fiscal year to date (July 1, 2022 through January 31, 2022), the gaming win has increased by 5.55 percent.
The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.

Continued increase in snow-related gas leaks, carbon monoxide emergencies

Firefighters continue their mission to empower the public with actions that should be taken to prevent snow-related emergencies.
North Tahoe Fire put out a news release Tuesday, stating they are responding to a steady increase in CO emergencies throughout the region.

Final four in Tahoe Trails Madness

The Tahoe Fund created its own bracket to determine the most popular trail around the Lake Tahoe Basin. It started with 16 trails from four regions.
The Final Four are the Eagle Rock Trail (north), Rubicon Trail (west), Marlette Flume Trail (east), and the Star Lake Trail (south).

Dr. Marquette received a majority of nominations recognizing his outstanding leadership and his caring, compassionate approach to health care. Dr. Marquette is a hospitalist at Barton Memorial Hospital, board certified in family medicine and addiction medicine.

The bell was accidentally left at the restaurant after the meeting and when they went back to look for it, it was gone.
This bell is very important to the club and its members because it has been a part of the club for over 50 years.

Early Bird General Admission tickets will increase by $10 on April 8, 2023, making tickets $55 for unlimited sampling from the admission time of 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. VIP tickets will remain the same at $75 with admission at 11 a.m. and taps opening at 12 p.m.

Sammy Hagar & The Circle coming to Lake Tahoe outdoor concert series
Submitted by paula on Mon, 03/27/2023 - 10:20amSTATELINE, Nev. - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist Sammy Hagar & The Circle is coming to the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys on July 14, 2023.
They are the latest act to book for the popular outdoor series. They come during the American Century Championship at Edgewood which is held July 12-16, 2023.
Lake Tahoe sled hill clean up Saturday nets very little trash
Submitted by paula on Mon, 03/27/2023 - 9:18amLAKE TAHOE, Nev. - The League to Save Lake Tahoe sled cleanup event at Spooner Summit on Saturday was "wonderfully uneventful," said the League's Communications Director Chris Joseph.
In years past, numerous plastic sleds and pieces of sleds have been found across the popular sledding hill at the intersection of US50 and SR28.
"Our volunteers found very little trash at the site, which can be attributed to a number of things," said Joseph.
